CACHE as TRUSTEE of Centennial Memorial Park in Benque Viejo del Carmen
Centennial Memorial Park, formerly a municipal burial ground, two acres in size, was put under the trust and care of the Community of Artists for Cultural & Historical Endeavours (CACHE) in July 2000. Since then, CACHE has partnered with the community of Benque Viejo, as well as with public and private entities to develop the grounds into a full-fledged community park and green area. The construction of drainage and peripheral sidewalks under the Municipal Development Project is the most recently accomplished project in collaboration with the Benque Viejo Town Council.
Centennial Park has fast grown to become an area of community interaction. With the continued operation of the Café, more and more people are spending time in the park. Our partnership with House of Culture/NICH has given way to many activities of a cultural and artistic nature that are carried out on a regular basis. Every two years, CACHE celebrates the International Festival of Art and Culture at the park.
CACHE has the responsibility for the continued maintenance and administration of the park. An MoU with the Benque Viejo Town Council outlines the terms and condition of this trust.
